Chips and Jesus What?

I was sitting eating my chips at Barberitos with some friends and their five year old sat by me. While she was waiting for her food. I asked her if she wanted some of my chips... Me expecting her to jump at the idea but instead I got this response.
"No" said the little girl.
"Why do you not want any chips?" asked I.
Her reply was," Well I do not deserve your chips, because they are not mine ."
" You can have my chip because I can share."
This incident got me thinking on how Jesus is a lot like those chips: That God shared his ONLY Son to save us, or like the chip fills us up, Jesus fills our empty heart, and that we try to fill up with earthy things, but Jesus is the only way

Footprints

So my Dad and I come home from the Nutcracker rehearsal. I walk in the Kitchen and it looks like someone sprinkled water on the floor. There it was footprints and as you know I have a sightly wild imagination. I ran outside "Dad there are footprints in our kitchen....As you probably know stuff like this was going through my head " Oh my goodness there are X murders in our house. My dad cool and calm looks at it goes those are Victoria's footprints he cleans up the mess and when Victoria gets home we find out she used body glitter and it had gotten on the floor!

Are You Self Absorbed?

You are probably wondering why I am not posting about my trip. The reason is because my mom will put it in better words than I will.

I do want to write about self absorption. Here is a test to find out if you are SELF ABSORBED.
1. Does your status up date on facebook say "Just turned the AC on"?
2. Do you twitter "Am stopping at a red light"?
3. Do you write songs about when you made a cake out of a box and it burned?

You are probably thinking about some person right about now....If you cannot think of someone you might be a self absorbed person!

Fish

Once upon a time there there was a fish named Buddy. He was a very small fish won at VBS. The owner of the fish was not a very good owner, (I was not the owner thank you very much) so the mother ended up taking care of the fish. Once when the mother was finishing up cleaning the tank/bowl, she went to put the fish back in the bowl, but the fish's dorsal fin got caught in the net. The mother, after trying to shake the fish off in the water, (you should have seen the look of terror on that fish's face) had to push the net against the the bowl, get a spoon and pry the fish's dorsal fin out of the net(in the process of freeing him, part of the dorsal fin came off). That is one of many funny stories about our fishes with nine lives (more to come later).

The Best Dad Ever

So my Mom, Victoria, and I arrived in GAP, an hour or so later we left GAP. I bought a white top with a flower and a floral top. I was so pumped about the tops because this floral top is the first floral top in my whole wardrobe. As us girls know, when we buy clothing we hope every single person we meet will compliment us.To our dismay it usually doesn't happen. Bummer. So I wore the floral top the next day. I got one compliment from Aunt Cynthia. Stink only one compliment. But the next time I wore it I got the best, most memorable compliment I will ever get. It was from my Dad.

So I entered the kitchen and Daddy looks at my shirt and says, "Hannah is that a new shirt?”

I replied, "Yes sir."

"Well Hannah, that is a very pretty shirt" my wonderful Father comments. He kind of squints at the sleeves and says, "It has a cool hem on it too."

I love you Dad. I miss you. Have fun in Baltimore. You are the best dad in the world, and I mean it.

Part One

So I am reading the newspaper and come a cross this head line
Wild dogs killed woman, then her husband

the fate of the animals has not yet been decided

I am sorry, but if any wild dogs kill someone and have been captured, they need to be put down, and this got me thinking of my perfect (OK maybe not perfect)dog.

Once upon a time there was a little girl who asked here mother if she could have a dog. Her mother had said she had to wait till they moved into their new house and their sod had to have the roots grow deep in to the ground. So she waited till the the 20th of December.

They went to Humane Society to look at dogs. She looked at the first dog and it was a 10 year old spaniel, but he was too old (in that case they were looking for a girl dog). She passed some other dogs and she got to a golden short haired mutt who is on all four feet, jumping up and down at least 4 feet into the air. She passed that dog quickly and get to a springer spaniel-coon hunting dog whose name was Juliet. She wanted her but the lady said that that particular dog would need lots of exercise and would be hyper. She kept going and found a pretty retriever looking dog with a black coat. Ah, she was beautiful and wanted her, but(I still do not know why they didn't get her), she kept going. The lady who walked dogs said this next dog was the best dog in the place. She said she was so calm and loving and that if anyone wanted a low maintenance dog, here she was.

her little card-thing outside of the fence said this
Dawn $65.00
breed: Doberman/greyhound
Very sweet

Kind and gentle

Playful with toys

Likes other dogs

LOVES cats

Great with baths

Likes car rides

So the family bought her and put the chip inside of her (the father signed his life away for this dog too) and were about to walk out the door when this lady said that you can never chain up a greyhound - that they will pull till they die or they get off of the chain or rope. This family was not going to have an inside dog till she said those 21 little words.

End of part one

Death

Have you ever watched a movie and there was a line saying, " If I had only had a chance to say good-bye but now he is dead!'' It is all the same if you say good-bye or not to a loved one. I got to say good-bye to Bj and give him a kiss, but when I did so, I was pretty sure I was never going to see him again. Maybe we all just want another reason to be sad or, for some of us, just for self pity. I thought, "I wish I had cleaned Bj so he would sparkle in the sun or for that matter in the shade. I also wished I had gone on a trail with him one last time."

I really do not know why I am writing such an odd paragraph, but I just feel a need. Kinda odd for a twelve year old writing such a sad post.

How a Family Works

A hand full of "center" children were discussing how a family works .... most of the time.

There is the oldest the child who cannot decide some things if their life depended on it. Very organized ( until you arrive into their rooms, then it is a complete disaster). They make their younger sibling completely mad at how quiet and sensible they are.

Next is the middle child. They are known for being very out going - definitely not on the quiet side. Longing to be the center of attention, maybe that is why they are usually everybody's favorite... outside of the family. Then they just are a complete nuisance, and her family will not laugh at her completely funny, yet corny, but made up right on the spot jokes.

Then there is the youngest. Well, we really did not get there. I still have not figured them out.

P.S This family thing only works when there is at least three of the same gender.

Tribute to My Best Bud

My best friend who always made sure I never fell off of his back. The first boy I kissed and the only one to lick my hand for a peppermint. My first friend who was addicted to cribbing.
B.j was put down at 1:40 p.m today. I will receive a lock of his mane and a professional photographed picture of him. I hope he is enjoying life in horse heaven.

I am adding on so when I am 80 I will be able to tell my grand kids about our great friendship. He was a litttle taller than fifteen hands, had beautiful face with a white stripe down the middle with a deep red coat..... he looked like a horse you would see in a demonstration video or picture. He had a neck of a stallion; he thought he was a stallion but really was only a gelding. He could only swish his tail two inches to the right. He was not everyone's favorite horse to ride, for he was bumpy because his pasterns were short. Once he went for a swim in Mrs Wendy's pool at midnight.

The Untitled Post

I was sitting in the car on my way to the barn to go ride Bj and all the sudden I was thinking of all the times I had gotten aggravated with him, that he would not do this or that. It is not that he can't, but sometimes he decides he does not want to do it, but he was abused. People over worked him. He never knew the meaning of a holiday or that you are to keep the Sabbath day holy. He had nerves in his tail clipped because he carried his tail too high, so now he can not swish his tail and other things like that. And believe me, swishing away flies is important here in Georgia. So he does have his reasons for being a bit lazy and not liking the saddles and the arena. As I sat there, I wondered why I had never fallen off of a Bj, (I am known at the barn for falling the most of all Mrs. Wendy's students) but then I had realized he had taken care of me and whenever I start to lose balance he would slow to a walk, that he had loved me (or the peppermints I give him) as much as I love him (and that is a ton).

When we arrived, I saw Mrs. Wendy bringing Bj out of the pasture. I got out of the car and I asked what was up.

She said " Bj has a bad case of colic.* I am taking him to the hospital." I asked her what I could do to help and I did whatever she asked me. All the time things like this were going through my head: This might be the last day I see him. They might put him down. Dear God, please let him live. Through a few tears ( I don't cry when my relatives die) I told him good-bye, not knowing if I would ever see him again.

At 1:37 mother got a phone call saying the vet thought Bj was going to be okay, that he had gotten cecum impaction colic, and they will have him on fluids for forty-eight hours. Then, if all goes well, he can be picked up on Friday Also, Mrs. Wendy asked if I could go to a horse hospital with her to pick him up.

So there's your horse lesson for today.

* colic is a broad word for many types of tummy trouble (it can be fatal for horses)

Stray Dog

Okay, we have a male lab-mix puppy who is living (temporarily) in our back yard. If you want him you will have a dream dog. He is so sweet( his tail is always wagging), he loves attention, and he will sit there all day long, as long as you rub him. He is a chocolate brown with four perfect white socks, and an interrupted stripe down his chest. His only problem is he jumps on people (he is not potty trained but what do you expect out of a puppy). I am guessing he is six months to a year old. He is not neutered and is very thin. I cannot get any pics up for our main computer is down.

Friday: Visited Concord museum, drove to Minutemen National Park, and saw The North Bridge, where The Shot Heard Round the World happened.

Saturday: Emigrated to Maine and got a cute, four bed two bathroom cottage (it was small)

Be Careful What You Say

Last Saturday at Sweet Mothers (as my dad would say it) a certain somebody asked me with a sound of disgust "Did you brush you hair this morning ?''

Drats! He noticed that my hair was parted down the middle, my bangs everywhere, the tips of my hair went in, out, and straight, and might I add that my hair was very very puffy. (I woke up too late, so I only had time to brush my teeth) My humiliated reply was, " No I didn't." Right about then, I was praying that someone that I did not know would come and say that my hair was so perfect, and they wanted to know how I did it. My reply would have been "It is all natural!"

To my dismay that did not happen. And as it would happened he (and my mom) started to pick on me saying " You should right a blog post about that rat's nest on top of your head, but there is no rat that lives in it. It's just how your hair is."
Maybe next time he will be more careful on what they tell me to right a blog.

Tic-Tac story

Once upon a time a little girl had eaten all of her orange Tic-Tacs. She had asked her older brother to give her one of his red Tic-Tacs, and being the loving brother that he was, he gave her one. But then the little girl decided she did not want a Tic-Tac, so she thought she would not be mean and stuck the tic-tac up her nose. Since the Tic-Tac was spicy her nose started to run red snot.

She heard a teenage girl behind her saying," Mrs. Lady the little girl has a bloody nose."

The Lady turned around in her seat in the car and looked and thought, "that really looks too red for blood."

Then the teenage girl exclaimed "Mrs. Lady, she stuck a Tic-Tac up her nose!"

When the little girl sneezed, the Tic-Tac went flying across the van, and everything ended happily ever after.
The End

Our Family's Talents

Now where should I begin. I guess I should start with my Super Mom. In school she played volleyball, maybe that is how she learned how to not to kill me when I want to learn something in my physical body, but then my mental mind decides to be come determined not to understand what my mom wants to teach me. It is confusing. Back to my mom she got married and had four beautiful babies (me the most beautiful in particular), then decided to home school us, and that is a feat in itself.

I will now move to my Wonderful Father. Let's see, he knows how to make, fix, and/or clean computers, cars, sinks, dog jumps, manure forks, etc. He knows how to fix things that are not broken and make them work better. This wonderful man runs my doggy four to five miles every other morning. Oh yeah, he married the most beautiful woman ever.

Alyssa is the oldest child, what else can I say? She has great patience (something I am in great need of) and likes to do things her own way. She knows how to do pointe to perfection, has a part time job and know how to put fashion into it all. She somehow finds time to take siblings to the mall, movies, beaches etc.

Kevin knows how to cream me at every card game I throw at him. He plays baseball, basketball and golf (he creams me at those too, but do not pity me). Along the way he has changed from old basketball shorts and holey shirts to preppy Ralph Lauren Polos (preferable with the Sea Island logo) and Ralph Lauren shorts and pants. Oh, I and better not forget to mention his precious, that-no-one-else-can-touch Costa sunglasses.

Victoria, that little girl, knows the difference between a real Vera Bradly and a fake one (shame on those copy-catters) in a matter of seconds. She can memorize a piano piece after a few tries, but along the way she learns to do them wrong, her own Victoria way. Victoria is the child who does Ballet with such grace and wins tacky trophies the size of an Imax screen in pageants and unfortunately then they end up in our room.

Now I need to stop typing because my boo-tay is hurting.

The Wendy's Worker

"How can I help you sir?" asked the Wendy's worker with the extreme radio. I ordered my meal thinking he was going to change his voice to normal, but as the meal went on it just got more weird and funny. We sat down waiting for our drinks, and he started to whistle non-stop through his teeth so it almost sounded like a snake. But he only whistled when he was through taking an order and was filling the drinks. So we were praying that more people would come. After a few more minutes of hideous whistling, he decided to come check up on us saying...."How are we doing, family?" with his deep fake sounding radio voice.

My mother was so close to saying," What family? I just picked these people up off the street.''

After this my little sister decided to trade a kid's meal toy CD for The "Mini Go Fish Game" while my dad went to go get some drink refilled. This is word for word what was said, "Mister may I trade this CD for the Mini Go Fish Game?'' asked Victoria.

''Sorry little girl, but we only have two kinds of games, but I will let you pick,'' he said in his radio voice. So he brought out the Mini Go Fish Game - the game my sister asked for!!!!

He was happy I was not the "little girl."

The Other Side of the Car Wreck

If you read my mother's blog you will know that Kevin and Father were in a wreck. When my mom went to go get my dad and brother from the wreckage site, Victoria and I were left alone.... but it seemed that our imagination had gone a little to the wild side and this is what happened.

Victoria and I had thought that maybe the the wreck was on purpose and that maybe they knew Victoria and I were going to be left alone and maybe the were going to rob our house. So we had grabbed some fire place tools (as in the metal pointy thing to spark the fire and the metal dust pan that gets the ashes) and were waiting on the steps to dig the point thingy into their head and hit them with the dust pan. But as we were doing so Alyssa was coming home from a friend's house. As she come through the door and turned around, she saw Victoria and me armed with our weapons (we had almost hit her with our weapons). That is what happens when your imagination runs away with you.

What's With the Name

Leave It to Hannah? I thought it was Leave It to Beaver? If you thought this then you are correct, but Beaver reminds me a lot of myself. Beaver is known for, at least to me, being very easily persuaded by his friends, which as a Christian is not very good at all. You should stand out from everyone. As some of you know I like to blend in, but does not everyone want to blend in with the crowd. So I am going to keep writing and see if I can stand out. I suggest you keep reading/ For if you keep reading, there will be some pretty funny stories from a middle child's point of view.
